SkillSuccess

Reviews

TLDR: SkillSuccess is a popular online learning platform, but there are better, cheaper alternatives.

I recommend Skillshare for its lower cost, 29,000-class catalogue, and excellent teachers. See my full review here.

SkillSuccess is an online learning platform in the vein of Skillshare and uDemy.

But is it really worth it?

SkillSuccess Overview

SkillSuccess has a catalogue of about 1000 courses on all sorts of topics like programming, creative writing, foreign languages, art, and design.

Some of the most popular classes on the platform.

The site offers courses both a-la-carte and via a subscription model.

If you pay for classes individually, they cost $199 on average. If you opt for the “All Access Pass” subscription, you’ll pay $25 per month.

All courses have a 30-day money-back guarantee, however some students report that it’s not very easy to get your money back if you’re not satisfied.

SkillSuccess Review

Sign Up Proccess: The signup process for SkillSuccess is easy. Simply sign up for free with a username and password, or use the Amazon Sign Up button, and you’ve got a basic account.

Unfortunately, unlike Skillshare or uDemy, just signing up won’t get you anything. SkillSuccess doesn’t offer any free courses at all.

Course Catalogue: The site seems sluggish, and searching doesn’t yield many classes at all.

No classes on the most popular JavaScript runtime? Really?!

For example, when I searched for the popular JavaScript runtime “Node JS”, SkillSuccess didn’t come back with any results.

Course Quality: The quality of the courses themselves is difficult to judge. At the time of writing, the site didn’t offer preview videos for any of its courses. While there were “student reviews”, few of the students had avatars, and comments seemed a bit too canned to be realistic.

Overall, the site seems sketchy, and I wouldn’t be comfortable paying such a high cost for something that’s not obviously above board or worth the money.

SkillSuccess Alternatives

Given the above, it should be no surprise that I recommend looking at alternatives to SkillSuccess. Here are a few I recommend taking a look at.

Skillshare

Skillshare has over 29,000 classes from experts at the top of their fields. At about $8/month for unlimited classes, it’s an excellent deal.

The quality of the content on Skillshare is fantastic. Award-winning logo designers, famous TED-talk presenters, and leaders from top companies like Google, Spotify, and Github all teach courses on Skillshare. You can also find many of the exact same classes you can get on Udemy on Skillshare.

Udemy

Udemy is the largest online learning platform, with over 100,000 classes.

If you’re looking for something very specific, Udemy just might have it. Classes range in price between $10 and $150.

The Bottom Line

When comparing SkillSuccess, Skillshare, and Udemy, Skillshare seems like a clear winner.

With unlimited classes, teachers from top companies, and an excellent community, Skillshare by far the best value for the money.

Best of all, you can get 2 months of Skillshare for free using this link.
